This may come as a bit of a surprise to some - in the latest news from Facebook they are allowing users to choose a legacy contact to take control of their account after they have passed away. According to a blog post from the social network, the site is "a place to share and connect with friends and family [and] remember and honour those we've lost"; with this in mind, the profile of a deceased loved one can become "a memorial of their life", updated and maintained by those who love them.

Reforms to IHT Promised by Conservatives Ahead of General Election

We came across another story regarding inheritance tax (IHT) the other day – part of the ongoing saga of reforms that have been in the news the past few years. It has been reported that the Conservative party have made claims that they will change the laws surrounding IHT ahead of the general election in May, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) has reported. Chancellor George Osborne has stated that IHT should only be paid by the rich and the thresholds for paying IHT will therefore be raised.
