Kings Court Trust (KCT) was delighted to welcome so many of its existing partners as well as new faces to seminars held this October in Newbury, Haydock and Coventry.
KCT events are a fantastic opportunity for our partners to meet with like-minded professionals, hear from a range of industry experts, join in discussions and earn CPD.
The first of our CPD sessions was run by Andrea Pierce, Head of Legal Services at KCT. Andrea discussed Nil Rate Band Discretionary Trusts and Property Trusts within Wills and the options, consequences and complications that may arise when setting them up during the Estate Administration.
Attendees agreed that knowing more about what happens upon death will better inform their Will writing.
We heard from Irwin Mitchell who spoke about appointing a Trustee and discussed the challenges in managing Will disputes and contentious estates.
Assisting our partners with generating business was the hot topic for Duncan Sims, KCT’s Business Development Manager and Patrick Mousley, National Sales Manager explored additional ways we could provide support for partners. This included the launch of LPA Assist, a piece of intelligent software that greatly reduces the time spent completing Lasting Power of Attorneys and registration forms and vastly improves accuracy.
Nick Beetham from Title Research spoke about the problems of missing beneficiaries and dealing with overseas assets as part of the administration process and what you can do to help your clients.
There were also discussions on marketing techniques and website tips from KCT’s Marketing Executive, Jennifer Wilcox.
Tom Curran, Chief Executive said of the event “Many thanks to all of our business partners who attended our seminars this year... We firmly believe that the next few years will see some of the most positive and significant change for our business community and the families we all serve. We will continue to try and make our seminars as relevant and interactive as possible meaning everyone can share ideas and best practice. We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2014.”
Kings Court Trust is committed to holding regular events like this so make sure you’re on our mailing list to find out about our next event!
